आज हमारे राष्ट्रपिता मोहनदास करमचन्द गाँधी जिन्हें प्यार से बापू कहकर पुकारते हैं, उनकी 68वीं पुण्यतिथि है जिसे हर वर्ष 30 जनवरी को ‘शहीद दिवस’ के रूप में मनाया जाता है. गाँधीजी के विचार हम सबके लिए हमेशा से प्रेरणा का श्रोत रहा है. उनके विचारों को आप लोगों से साझा करना एक प्रकार से ये मेरी ओर से बापू के लिए श्रदांजलि है.
1) You must be the change you wish to see in the world.
आप स्वंय वह बदलाव बनिए, जिसे आप दुनिया में देखना चाहते हैं.
2) If I am to die by the bullet of a mad man, I must do so smiling. There must be no anger within me. God must be in my heart and on my lips.
अगर मुझे एक पागल व्यक्ति की गोलियों से मरना पड़े तो मैं मुस्कुराते हुए ऐसा करना चाहूँगा. मेरे भीतर कोई क्रोध नहीं होगा. ईश्वर मेरे दिल में और मेरे जुबान पर होगा.
3) First they ignore you then laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
पहले वे आपको अनदेखा करेंगे, फिर आप पर हसेंगे, फिर आप से लड़ेंगे, फिर आप जीत जायेंगे.
4) There is no god higher than truth.
सच्चाई से बड़कर कोई भगवान नहीं.
5) The future depends on what we do in the present.
भविष्य हमारे आज के किये कर्म पर निर्भर है.

6) The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
कमजोर कभी क्षमा नहीं कर सकता. क्षमादान ताकतवर की पहचान है.
7) Where there is love, there is life.
जहाँ प्रेम है, वहाँ जीवन है.
8) I came alone in this world, I have walked alone in the valley of the shadow of death, and I shall quit alone when the time comes.
मैं अकेले इस दुनिया में आया था, मैं अकेले मौत की छाँव वाली घाटियों में चला हूँ, और जब समय आयेगा अकेले ही विदा लूँगा.
9) Live as if you were to die tomorrow; learn as if you were to live forever.
जीओ ऐसे की कल मौत आने को है; सीखो ऐसे की हमेशा आपको जीना है.
10) My life is my message.
मेरा जीवन ही मेरा सन्देश है.
11) It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.
स्वास्थ्य ही असल संपत्ति है न की सोने और चाँदी के टुकड़े.
12) There are many causes that I am prepared to die for but no cause that I am prepared to kill for.
मरने के लिए मेरे पास कहीं सारी वजहें हैं परन्तु किसी को मारने के लिए मेरे पास कोई वजह नहीं है.
13) Ahimsa is the source for the great thoughts to become complete as an action.
अहिंसा महान विचारों को कर्म में रूपांतरित करने का श्रोत है.
14) A man is but, the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.
एक व्यक्ति अपने विचारों का उत्पाद है. जो वह विचार करता है वह बन जाता है.
15) A successful bloody revolution can only mean further misery for the masses.
एक सफल खुनी विद्रोह भविष्य में लोगों को और दुःख पहुँचाता है.
16) Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment.
सत्ता दो प्रकार के हैं. एक सजा के डर से प्राप्त किया जाता है और दूसरा प्रेम के पथ पर चलकर. प्रेम पर आधारित सत्ता सजा के डर से प्राप्त सत्ता से हजारों गुना प्रभावकारी और स्थायी होता है.
